Biography

I'm an art practitioner connected to an extensive network of art practitioners, academics, and arts facilitators throughout New Zealand. I've written on artists, art practices and complexities within and around the Fine Arts arena. I've had experience curating and facilitating art exhibitions, and have presented talks on many artists.   ̌

Biography

 

Elizabeth Brookbanks is a multidisciplinary artist based in Auckland, Aotearoa, New Zealand. Her practice examines aura, originality and the copy with regard to how contemporary art might enable divine revelation. Underpinning her work is the desire to expand traditional understandings of Icons and the methods used in their creation, in order to explore the inherent power art to impart values and beliefs.

Elizabeth has received commissions for works from national and international art patrons and has contributed to several book publications. She holds a number of qualifications from the University of Auckland including BA (Hons), BFA (Hons), MA Art History, MFA and a Graduate Diploma in Theology from Laidlaw College.
