Come on a journey from the early Roman world through to the triumph and tribulations of the Byzantine era. Discover how theological controversies have shaped creative expression. Learn how different styles of mosaics, architecture and sculpture represented religious and political power. Consider also, how legacies of the ancient world have informed and shaped modern thinking. This course is an excellent precursor to the icon making workshop.
